The Bridge (my fascination)

Veteran's Memorial SkywayHere is my latest photo of the Veterans Memorial Skyway, the span on Rt 280 that facilitates one of the crossing points of the Maumee River around the Toledo area. As this bridge was being built, I drove through the construction with fear (at the mess) and awe (at the massiveness of the undertaking) and watched amazed as the structure took shape.

I started taking photos of it when there was a maze of construction to drive through underneath as they placed the pylons and road bed....I photographed the main support structure from the ground as the construction came to an end...I took one-handed photos while driving the first few times I was able to actually drive across the bridge and see the tower close up...and on my last road trip, while coming home at night, I saw in person for the first time the changing colors of the lights in the tower at night.

I was so fascinated by the effect that I went to a strategic location downtown, set up my tripod and digital camera on the roof of my car and captured this photo to share with you...hope you enjoy it....

More later, as time permits and interesting things come up...till then..sorry I have been away...much love to you...
