Technologically Challenged Day....

Ben's BrotherGot to work this morning and was greeted with a damaged install of Windows...my machine would not boot....mid-day, one of my IT co-workers said "not to one-up you or anything, but we just lost the server "******" .....and to top it all off, our data service provider for our Blackberry devices just let us know (after we called and asked them) that there are rolling data outages that started in Chicago, which have the potential of making our BB email users be without email for up to 24 hours...I also see that Blogger is "scheduling an outage" for later this afternoon as well...

Hmmm...it sucks to be so technology tethered...I was so frantic earlier this morning when my machine was down that I thought I would be sick....the BB thing is not nearly a disconcerting to me as the thought of losing my "plum" set up on my personal computer that I use every day.....up side? it seems to be running much better since I had to troubleshoot...go fig...but leave it to me to try to find the silver lining in the cloud...

Hope your technology behaved for you today...if I don't see you here for awhile or get an email, I will know why (wink*)....that's it for now...till later, much love to you...

The Bridge (my fascination)

Veteran's Memorial SkywayHere is my latest photo of the Veterans Memorial Skyway, the span on Rt 280 that facilitates one of the crossing points of the Maumee River around the Toledo area. As this bridge was being built, I drove through the construction with fear (at the mess) and awe (at the massiveness of the undertaking) and watched amazed as the structure took shape.

I started taking photos of it when there was a maze of construction to drive through underneath as they placed the pylons and road bed....I photographed the main support structure from the ground as the construction came to an end...I took one-handed photos while driving the first few times I was able to actually drive across the bridge and see the tower close up...and on my last road trip, while coming home at night, I saw in person for the first time the changing colors of the lights in the tower at night.

I was so fascinated by the effect that I went to a strategic location downtown, set up my tripod and digital camera on the roof of my car and captured this photo to share with you...hope you enjoy it....

More later, as time permits and interesting things come up...till then..sorry I have been away...much love to you...
